Beyond Steel is working with an EV bus OEM converting their next-gen platform to a lighter one. First conversion is the battery supporting structures mounted to the chassis. Mass savings of 2/3 to 3/4 are predicted with greater stiffness and strength as compared with the steel baseline assemblies. Only glass fibre is used as the reinforcement.
